TDK Fire Protection can supply, design, install, service and maintain multiple fire protection systems under one roof. Our fire protection department specialise in dry & wet risers, fire hydrants, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, hose reels, fire stopping, fire doors and fire signs.
We currently provide fire protection maintenance for multiple councils, housing organisations, contractors and building owners and we are on hand to assist you in all things fire protection.
At TDK we supply, design, install, service and maintain dry risers to BS990. In 2023, TDK provided maintenance on over 1000 dry riser systems for our customers and installed a further 100+ dry riser installations.
As per BS990, dry riser systems should be serviced twice annually. A 12bar pressure test for a minimum of 15 minutes should be carried out once yearly with a visual inspection carried out at a 6 monthly interval. With this in mind we can complete these works as a one off or as part of an ongoing PPM contract.
All dry riser contracts are supplied with an official test certificate and job sheet showing the work carried out.
TDK can assist with all dry riser work from a small dry riser installation to a maintenance contract of 1000+ dry risers to any repair work required.
Wet Risers are typically installed in buildings over 50mtr in height. TDK provide install and maintenance to our clients for wet riser systems.
TDK also supply, design, install, service and maintain Fire Hydrants to BS990.
We can carry out maintenance on Fire Hydrant systems which includes a flow test/pressure test, condition of the pit and cleaning out if required, access to fire hydrant and ensuring adequate signage.
We also have the advantage of having a groundworks division of the company allowing for repairs or installs to be carried out fully in house.
Sprinkler systems are an important part of fire protection – here at TDK we can supply, design, install, service and maintain residential sprinkler systems.
It is a requirement to service residential sprinklers every 12 months to ensure the system is in working order. It is essential that residential sprinkler systems to have a full service as part of the BS9251.
TDK also carry out residential sprinkler installations in house.
At TDK we install, service and maintain Fire Extinguishers to BS5306 standard.
All sites where fire extinguishers are present have a duty to ensure they are maintained annually. This includes checking to see/ensure; pressure is correct, check weight against manufacturers details, replace necessary consumables, ensure it is clear of obstruction, check the condition, all signs and instructions are clear and correct, ensure they are mounted/fixed correctly and supply a full asset register and certificate on completion.
We can provide PPM contracts to ensure these annual checks are completed to keep sites safe and up to regulatory standards.
TDK have a dedicated electrical department that can supply, design, install, service and maintain fire alarm systems.
Fire alarm systems should be serviced every 6 months to comply with BS5839-1.
