Dry Riser Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a competent and reliable Dry Riser Engineer to carry out inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of dry riser systems within residential and commercial properties. The role will primarily involve works for housing associations, local authorities, and managing agents, ensuring full compliance with current fire safety standards.

Full Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection, testing, and maintenance of dry riser systems in accordance with current standards
• Annual pressure testing and certification of dry riser installations
• Identification and repair of defects, including valves, landing valves, inlet breeches, caps, and signage
• Minor remedial works to ensure systems remain compliant and operational
• Completion of inspection reports, certificates, and compliance documentation
• Liaising with residents, building managers, and site teams to gain access and explain works
• Working at height and within communal areas safely
• Ensuring all works comply with health & safety, fire safety, and company procedures

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience working on dry riser systems
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards (e.g. BS 9990)
• Competence in pressure testing and fault diagnosis
• Understanding of fire safety compliance requirements
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Experience working within social housing or local authority environments
• CSCS card
• PASMA or IPAF (working at height)
• Asbestos awareness
